Matchtech Group is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to act as the technical cornerstone of our workshop, leading complex build activities and influencing engineering decisions. This hands-on leadership role sits at the intersection of design, manufacturing and commissioning, ensuring manufacturability and quality across high‑precision systems.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within precision engineering, advanced manufacturing or mechanical engineering.
• Strong CNC programming and machining expertise.
• Proven experience supporting technically complex engineering projects.
• Ability to interpret engineering requirements and develop practical manufacturing solutions.
• Advanced troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong leadership, mentoring and communication skills.
• Passion for quality, innovation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex manufacturing, assembly and commissioning activities.
• Provide expert advice on manufacturability, tooling, processes and production methods.
• Act as the primary technical interface between engineering design teams and workshop operations.
• Take ownership of technically challenging projects and critical customer deliverables.
• Program, set and operate CNC machinery where required, supporting the most demanding manufacturing tasks.
• Drive root cause investigations and resolve engineering and manufacturing issues.
• Support project planning, estimating and scheduling activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workshop capability and efficiency.
• Champion engineering excellence, quality and best practice across the workshop.
• Mentor technicians, apprentices and junior engineers, sharing knowledge and developing capability within the team.
• Support the introduction of new technologies, equipment and manufacturing methods.
