Job summary

Progressive is seeking a proactive Workshop Manager to lead a team of Workshop Technicians in a bespoke manufacturing environment. You will drive production targets safely, on time, and to high-quality standards.

You will plan workloads, monitor schedules, support LEAN initiatives, and collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain and other departments to resolve issues and continuously improve performance. This role requires strong leadership, HSE knowledge, and staff development abilities.

Qualifications

• Previous team leadership/supervisory experience within manufacturing or engineering.
• Experience with bespoke/complex manufacturing, workflow planning and scheduling.
• Strong understanding of HSE, quality standards and LEAN manufacturing.
• Good communication, problem-solving, organisation and people-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and manage workshop technicians day to day.
• Plan workloads, delegate tasks and monitor project schedules and completion targets.
• Maintain high standards of quality, HSE and workmanship.
• Monitor performance, identify training needs and support staff development.
• Resolve operational issues and work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain and other departments.
• Support LEAN manufacturing, continuous improvement, cost reduction and lead-time improvements.
• Manage customer requirements and internal/external suppliers.
