Job summary

Johnson Controls in Stockport, United Kingdom, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead manufacturing engineering and maintenance across the site, delivering capital projects and driving continuous improvements in safety, quality, delivery and cost performance.

You will partner with production, quality, supply chain and site leadership to optimise processes, reduce risks and improve reliability, with a university engineering degree and at least six years of manufacturing experience

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in manufacturing, production or engineering.

What We Are Looking For

Required:

• University degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience within a manufacturing, production or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and maintenance practices.
• Proven experience delivering operational improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience managing capital equipment or site improvement projects.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively across multiple functions.
• Knowledge of health, safety and quality requirements within a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred:

• Experience leading engineering teams within a plant manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other operational excellence methodologies.
• Experience within a highly regulated or complex manufacturing environment.
• Project management qualification or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems and asset reliability programmes.
