Job description

Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight

Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience

What you’ll be doing:

1. Apply manufacturing engineering knowledge to support development in electromechanical assembly.
2. Interpret production drawings to identify tooling, process, handling, safety requirements, and estimate assembly times.
3. Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions and shopfloor layouts.
4. Conduct health and safety activities such as risk assessments and manual handling assessments.
5. Engage in technical liaison with subcontractors and customers.
6. Develop training packages on modern technologies and processes.
7. Collaborate with development teams to ensure Design for Manufacture principles are applied.

Your skills and experience:

1. Experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. Understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
3. Knowledge of production engineering principles.
4. Ability to read engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
5. HNC/D qualification in engineering.
6. Understanding of engineering change documentation.
7. Experience with SAP transactions and table structures (training provided).
8. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques.

The Manufacturing Engineering Team:

The team comprises 6 engineers, supporting all build process steps, interfacing with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment requiring excellent communication, problem-solving, and planning skills.
