Job summary

1st Executive Ltd. is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead a sizeable commercial team and provide senior commercial management across a portfolio of complex infrastructure projects.

The role combines commercial leadership, contract management, procurement, supplier management and team development with governance across the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will oversee cost control, budgeting, forecasting and commercial reporting while coaching a multi-level QS team toward

Qualifications

• Degree or Master's in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.
• Significant QS/Commercial Management experience in civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Proven management of a substantial commercial team and portfolio.
• Strong contract management, procurement, supplier negotiation and risk management.
• Experience with pre- and post-contract stages and governance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage commercial activity across complex infrastructure projects through pre- and post-contract stages.
• Ensure contractual compliance with processes, controls and escalation mechanisms.
• Develop procurement and commercial strategies balancing value, risk and delivery.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers on contracts and commercial matters.
• Provide commercial input on variations, claims, disputes and obligations.
• Maintain value for money across supplier and contract lifecycles.
• Oversee payment certification, cost control, forecasting and financial governance.
• Provide cost and market data to support estimating and business planning.
• Produce commercial performance reporting and risk/opportunity insights.
• Lead and develop a multi-level Quantity Surveying team towards chartership.
• Contribute to governance, business cases and strategic decisions.
• Support senior leadership on dispute resolution and commercial strategy.
