Overview
To work with Heads of Broadcast and Digital on maximising revenue for PRS by executing key licences across broadcast and digital markets. In particular, to lead critical negotiations with the largest and most strategic customers in the video on demand space (including FAST) as well as supporting Account Managers in their deal negotiations. Key focus will be on customer/industry engagement, strategy, and deal negotiation.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for a defined Broadcast and Digital business area, owning the budget-setting process and associated forecasting calculations, deal pipeline, deal tracking, and related timelines – ultimately accountable to the Head of Broadcast and Digital for the success of that business area.
- Work with the Head of Broadcast and Digital and Account Managers on licence negotiations with new and existing commercial partners, leading deal teams on key negotiations, and upholding the value of music copyright on behalf of PRSfM members.
- Handle all other elements of account management once licences are in place (including customer and member queries), delegating to other account managers as necessary.
- Set a high example for Account Managers by leading key areas of expertise, coaching others across the team, and supporting them in their negotiations.
- Engage directly with key external stakeholders, alongside the Head of Broadcast and Digital, to foster new and existing relationships with key media organisations.
- Work with the Head of Broadcast and Digital to develop effective market strategies supported by key stakeholders within PRSfM and across the music industry.
- Write papers and presentations for key PRSfM stakeholders (broader Commercial and International teams, Committees, and Boards) to gain approval for strategies and new licence deals.
- Work closely with PRSfM’s Legal, Commercial, and Financial teams to develop robust licensing models.
- Collaborate with the Deal Strategy team on commercial/financial modelling and analytics related to deal negotiations.
- Coordinate with wider PRS teams (Finance, Operations, etc.) to ensure revenue flows to members effectively and efficiently once new deals are in place.
- Where possible, create efficiencies and standardise team’s approach for proposals and documentation (e.g., committee papers, re-aggregation requests).
- Focus on improving PRS visibility by attending industry events, conferences, and providing a high level of customer engagement.

About you
- Excellent all-round commercial skill set – with particular strengths in building trusting relationships, deal negotiations, and business strategy.
- Excellent understanding of the UK music industry and media landscape, especially digital markets.
- Experience of licensing music for AV media (e.g., TV/film productions or video games).
- Proven experience in identifying and capitalising on new revenue opportunities within complex business environments.
- Excellent communicator, capable of presenting complex issues to large groups of senior stakeholders, supported by strong written skills (including PowerPoint).
- Driven and dynamic individual, passionate about driving revenue growth and succeeding in challenging areas.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of PRSfM / MCPS and society networks.
- Experience working with intellectual property and legal contracts.
- People management experience.
- Knowledge of digital and traditional media advertising sectors.
