Job description

Our growing and evolving transfer pricing team is looking for an experienced Transfer Pricing Manager to further expand our transfer pricing service line offering. You should have a solid foundation of providing transfer pricing advice across a variety of industries and sectors.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, friendly team and to develop this role and our client base further. The role has arisen due to increasing demand for transfer pricing services from our growing portfolio of international entrepreneurial clients requiring transfer pricing solutions.

You should have practical experience in advising on the UK’s transfer pricing legislation. Candidates who also have a broad knowledge of international corporate tax principles will find this a challenging and rewarding role.

In return, we offer exposure to a wide variety of international mid-market entrepreneurial and private wealth clients. This role will contribute to your existing technical and commercial experience and professional development.

The responsibilities

The candidate can expect the role to encompass the following areas amongst others:

  1. Proactively manage and deliver transfer pricing projects on technical input, resource requirements, and costs, reporting into the transfer pricing director.
  2. Have broad practical and theoretical transfer pricing experience across sectors and industries, including advising and implementing various transfer pricing methods. Financial services experience is not required as we provide training.
  3. Deliver practical and robust transfer pricing advice and manage TP design and documentation projects for sign-off by the transfer pricing director.
  4. Advise on intellectual property transactions, including DEMPE analysis, business restructuring, and operational transfer pricing solutions.
  5. Collaborate with the transfer pricing director and tax partners to grow our service line and build our pipeline of opportunities.
  6. Assist with proposals, budgets, and developing new work streams within our regions, including audit of transfer pricing.
  7. Project manage the delivery of transfer pricing solutions, including multi-territory projects.
  8. Build relationships with wider client service teams in your region.
  9. Train, coach, and develop junior team members.
  10. Lead on financial management of your portfolio, working with a network of specialists worldwide.
  11. Respond proactively to client and partner needs, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.

We are committed to developing a work portfolio that suits individual needs, working with your line manager to tailor your work.

The team

The Transfer Pricing Team is part of Saffery’s Corporate Tax team. The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in providing transfer pricing advice across industries, living our firm’s values, and being a collaborative team member.

The team is led by the Transfer Pricing Director, reports to the International Tax Partner, and services the firm’s offices nationally. It is a small, growing team focused on marketing, tendering, delivering projects, and engaging in international tax aspects of transfer pricing.

You

The role suits a qualified individual with several years of post-qualification experience in transfer pricing, with skills including:

  • Experience in complex transactions, including IP, restructuring, and operational transfer pricing, leveraging technology.
  • Practical experience delivering transfer pricing solutions and a background in international taxation.
  • Knowledge of UK transfer pricing legislation, debt, HMRC guidance on thin capitalization, and ATCAs.
  • Understanding of UK’s Corporate Interest Restriction legislation and broad international tax knowledge.
  • Enjoyment of technical challenges and learning, with the ability to develop creative solutions.
  • Ability to adapt advice to client size and see the bigger commercial picture.
  • Leadership support skills and proactive relationship development.
  • Project management skills from proposal to delivery, managing to budget.
  • Broad international tax background and transfer pricing experience, especially in asset management.
  • Educational qualifications such as ACA, CTA, ADIT, law, or equivalents.

Reward and benefits

• 35-hour workweek with hybrid working policy (up to three days remote, core hours 10-4)
• Benefits including contributory pension, 25 days leave, Life Assurance, flexible benefits, and family policies.
• Profit-Sharing Plan eligibility, paid in December.
• Discretionary bonus scheme eligibility.
