Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Manager, Financial Control to lead statutory reporting across multiple entities, oversee external audits and ensure timely statutory accounts under IFRS and local GAAP. The role reports to Lead, Financial Control and is hybrid in Belfast.

You will coordinate with Group Reporting, Tax, Treasury and business stakeholders, maintain robust controls, and drive continuous improvement in statutory processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with experience in statutory reporting and external audits.
• Experience delivering statutory financial statements under IFRS and local GAAP.
• Ability to coordinate multi-entity audits and liaison with auditors.

Responsibilities

• Lead statutory audit activity across a portfolio of entities and coordinate with external auditors.
• Manage end-to-end audit activity for the annual Group audit with stakeholders.
• Oversee statutory reporting timetable and ensure deadlines are met.
• Prepare audited statutory financial statements under IFRS and local GAAP.
• Review statutory accounts for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate filings with Companies House and international authorities.
• Oversee iXBRL tagging and HMRC submission requirements.
• Liaise with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal and business stakeholders on reporting.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on statutory matters and changes.
