Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Manager, Content Developer to lead International qualification development, ensuring market-winning products align with customer needs and regulatory requirements. The role sits in a matrix with collaboration across Product, Assessment and Qualifications teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, experience in education assessment and a track record of delivering high-quality qualifications within a complex matrix.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of schools environment and teacher and learner needs, contexts and priorities.
• Academic qualifications, e.g. the market, customers, learners, assessment, technology
• Experience of designing and developing qualifications, products or curricula that delight teachers and learners, are used effectively in the classroom and attract increasing numbers of schools.
• Understanding of education assessment, practice and policy, including academic assessment principles and techniques.
• Experience of working with ambiguity in complex development environments, turning uncertain or emerging requirements into practical options, clear recommendations and tangible outputs.
• Experience of working effectively in a complex matrix.
• Experience of presenting to/training/supporting teachers or colleagues
• Experience of influencing stakeholders (subject stakeholders and internal stakeholders).
• Strong project management experience with demonstrable track record of delivering high quality (in customer and regulator terms) products to time, cost and quality requirements
• Managing budgets.
• Planning and managing large scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead International qualification and product development across market-winning qualifications and teaching materials.
• Maintain visibility of the Qualification Development Pipeline across the international qualification suite.
• Collaborate with Head of Product to understand development processes and tailor to each situation.
• Support timelines, document process and deliver development activity in line with regulatory requirements.
• Work with QDM team to support training and development of the International Product team.
• Lead on development of the general assessment strategy during qualification reform.
• Work with subject and portfolio teams to ensure market-winning qualifications meet customer and regulator requirements.
• Ensure quality assurance checks are carried out to ensure qualifications are submission-ready and compliant with processes.
• Manage the International amendments log and advise on regulatory issues.
• Lead and line manage the Product Development team, setting priorities and overseeing projects.
• Manage opex and capex budgets and assist with forecasts as part of annual planning.
