Asda is undergoing an exciting data transformation, placing insight and analytics at the heart of strategic decision-making. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Insight and Analytics to lead high-impact, technically rich initiatives that deliver real business value across our commercial, customer, supply chain, and digital functions.

In this role, you will lead the analyst stream, ensuring the team has strong technical skills, consistent methodologies, and clear development pathways. You will support the Chief Data Scientist (CDS) in resource allocation and capability building. You will likely lead on delivering high-profile and complex projects, working alongside squad SMs. You will shape and deliver advanced analytics and visual insights that influence decisions at all levels of the organization.

You’ll work in a hybrid cloud environment (Azure, Databricks), applying your skills to challenges in customer behavior, operations, and digital journeys. You will mentor and manage a team of talented data professionals, fostering analytical capabilities and a high-performance culture.

What You'll Love:

• Team Leadership and Capability Development: Establish and embed practices to improve analytics and data science standards. Provide quality assurance and peer reviews. Support analysts’ technical skills development. Ensure consistent analytical approaches. Stay updated with industry trends and drive innovation. Manage recruitment, training, and career progression.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a data evangelist. Build trusted relationships with the executive team. Define and develop analytics capabilities roadmap. Work with teams to improve data quality and strategic data asset management.
• Strategic Contribution: Lead analytics problem solving and insight generation for multiple verticals. Support and co-develop analytics strategy across disciplines. Apply analytics thinking across domains like pricing, promotions, supply chain, and customer segmentation. Design and maintain scalable analytical solutions.

What You'll Need:

• At least 5+ years in a Data & Analytics leadership role within a retail environment of similar scale.
• Proven track record of delivering analytics initiatives that generate sales value.
• Experience leading a team of 10-20 analytics professionals. Ability to design and implement data products for operational and analytical use.
• Experience building scalable, reliable analytical solutions that deliver business benefits.
• Leadership in analytics patterns, processes, and agile delivery. Technical mentoring skills.
• Creative and critical thinking skills in dynamic environments.
• Proficiency in Databricks, Azure, SQL, and open-source data visualization libraries.
• Excellent communication skills, able to simplify technical concepts.
• Strong problem-solving focus on value creation.
• Leadership experience, either through line management or project leadership.
• A degree in a numerate discipline (Math, Statistics, CS, Engineering).
