Job summary

BDO UK is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Technology Risk and Governance practice in the North of England, based in Manchester or Leeds. You’ll advise key clients on technology risk, governance, and resilience, shaping engagements and helping organisations strengthen controls and assurance across complex programmes.

You’ll build relationships, originate opportunities, lead multi-workstream projects, and develop teams while collaborating with senior stakeholders and the firm’s partners to

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in technology risk, IT internal audit, IT assurance, risk and controls, at Senior Manager level or ready for it.
• Proven track record in winning and expanding client work through market relationships.
• Strong commercial judgement including shaping proposals, scoping and fees, and managing engagement economics.
• Broad technical credibility across technology risk and controls, with depth in one or more areas (e.g., ITGC, cloud, DevOps, ERP, data, AI governance).
• Experience leading multi-workstream engagements and communicating with executive and risk stakeholders.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop teams and drive sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the technology risk and governance practice in the North of England.
• Originate opportunities and manage client relationships to expand engagements.
• Guide high-quality delivery, build mature governance and assurance across programmes.
• Develop and mentor teams, contributing to the firm’s growth and capability.
