Job summary

Department of Sports Arts Culture and Recreation is seeking a capable supervisor to lead a range of community sport and recreation programs, including group exercise, mindfulness sessions, and sport events. The role focuses on accessibility, partnerships, and promoting healthy lifestyles across diverse communities.

Applicants should hold Grade 12 plus a National Diploma/ Degree (NQF 6/7) in relevant fields and have 3–5 years’ supervisory experience. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate plus a National Diploma/ Degree (NQF 6/7) in Sport and Recreation / Sports Science / Sport Administration / Sport Management / Health Sciences in Sport / Exercise Sciences or relevant qualification.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ supervisory experience in a sports and recreation environment.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Offer diverse, accessible programs like group exercise, sports, and mindfulness sessions to promote a healthy lifestyle.
• Collaborate with parks, fitness centres, and community organisations to provide public exercise classes and events.
• Develop strategic plans, monitor performance, and manage assets and community partnerships.
