Payroll Senior Manager - People Services

Job Profile:

To ensure high-quality and accurate payroll services to our clients while managing and developing the core payroll team. Working alongside the existing payroll manager, this role will help grow payroll services for both domestic and global clients.

We are seeking a self-motivated, confident payroll professional with an analytical and logical approach. The candidate must think creatively while ensuring all compliance requirements are met. Building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients and internal teams, the successful candidate will identify process improvements, system developments, and training needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a cost-effective, accurate, and professional service to all clients, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Ensure all payrolls are processed efficiently, effectively, and accurately, meeting strict deadlines.
  • Manage and develop the payroll team.
  • Identify growth opportunities.
  • Complete RFIs & RFPs.
  • Maintain knowledge of current legislation and ensure compliance, including team training.
  • Evaluate current processes to implement improvements and adopt new systems, driving change.
  • Communicate internally and externally to handle queries.
  • Achieve SLA targets and maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs.
  • Identify cost savings and increase profitability.
  • Collaborate with various parts of KPMG to develop payroll services and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Lead various payroll and wider GMS services projects.
  • Plan resources strategically.
  • Oversee departmental financial planning.
  • Manage portfolio aspects including finance, compliance, risk, and client escalation.
  • Plan team operations and manage performance.
  • Sign off on BACS payments.
  • Manage vendor/supplier relationships.
  • Recruitment and team staffing.
Skills and Requirements:
  • Extensive payroll management experience.
  • Team management experience is essential.
  • Preferably CIPP qualified.
  • Knowledge of STAR payroll professional system is advantageous.
  • Experience with expat and modified payroll is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Forward-thinking regarding risks and issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Confident and approachable demeanor.
