Job summary

ACCA Careers is partnering with a top 100 accountancy practice in Sevenoaks to recruit a Senior Manager. The role supports Partners, with progression toward equity Partner, in a hybrid working environment.

The successful candidate will manage client portfolios, oversee statutory and tax work, and mentor junior staff while pursuing growth opportunities within existing clients.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
• Experience leading and developing teams; client-facing.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients delivering accounting, tax, and advisory services.
• Lead and review statutory and management accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax matters.
• Act as the primary contact for clients, providing commercial advice and building long-term relationships.
• Oversee, mentor and develop junior team members, supporting their technical and professional growth.
• Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client portfolios and contribute to business development.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, firm procedures, and quality control while managing deadlines and workflow.

The Senior Manager will be the right hand person to the Partners of the firm. This role has the potential to progress through Partner Designate up to eventual equity Partner.

Description

• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and business advisory services.
• Lead and review the preparation of statutory accounts, management accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax matters.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing commercial advice and building long-term relationships.
• Oversee, mentor, and develop junior team members, supporting their technical and professional growth.
• Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client portfolios and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, firm procedures, and quality control standards while managing deadlines and workflow effectively.

A Successful Senior Manager Should Have

• Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
• Ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for client and stakeholder interaction.
• A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
• 10+ years experience working for an accountancy practice.

Job Offer
