Job summary

Heart of England Mencap is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join the Finance Team at the Alscot Office. The role covers payroll, monthly management accounts, budgeting and financial reporting, with strong emphasis on accuracy and controls.

You will work with the Head of Finance & Commissioning, operational managers and senior leadership to deliver reliable financial information and support effective decision-making.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Experience with payroll processing and payroll legislation/HMRC requirements.
• Knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Manage and process the monthly payroll.
• Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and monitoring.
• Analyse financial performance and variances.
• Maintain fixed asset register and financial controls.
• Support annual audits and statutory reporting.
• Review invoices, payment runs and expenses within delegated limits.
• Provide financial guidance to managers and HR payroll liaising.
