Michael Page Finance in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to lead monthly management accounts and the close process. You will prepare journals, review reconciliations and provide detailed variance analysis for senior stakeholders.

The role involves budgeting and forecasting support, cash flow analysis, and improving financial controls while mentoring junior staff and contributing to strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA credentials.
• Experience leading month-end processes and close cycles.
• Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Manage the month-end close, deadlines and reporting accuracy.
• Prepare and review journals (accruals, prepayments, depreciation).
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve items.
• Provide variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare monthly management reporting packs for senior management.
• Support annual budgets, forecasts and long-term plans.
• Monitor margins, working capital and cash movements; support VAT and audits.
• Drive process improvements and mentor junior team members.
