Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a Management Accountant for the UK property sector. You will own the monthly finance timetable, manage month-end close, and drive accurate reporting and compliance to support long-term goals.

This permanent role requires strong knowledge of budgeting, financial systems, and analytical skills. You will collaborate with budget holders, prepare annual budgets, and assist in financial planning and reporting to the CFO and Board.

Qualifications

• Active ACCA, CIMA, ACA Studier - Part Qualified.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
• Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the monthly finance timetable and month-end close.
• Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and investigate differences.
• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts.
• Analyse actual results against budget and forecast.
• Explain significant variances and identify actions needed.
• Maintain clear working papers and supporting information.
• Meet with budget holders to review financial position.
• Help budget holders understand income, expenditure, budgets and forecasts.
• Lead the detailed preparation of the annual budget and forecasting process.
• Document assumptions, changes and decisions clearly.
• Support CFO with financial modelling and longer-term planning.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to Finance Team members.
• Review finance work and help colleagues develop skills.
• Ensure financial controls and procedures are followed.
• Support improvements to finance systems and processes.
• Cash flow, audit and year-end responsibilities.
• Maintain short- and medium-term cash-flow forecasts.
• Prepare year-end schedules and information for external audit.
• Assist in statutory accounts preparation and audit queries.
• Provide financial analysis for CEO and Board reports.
