Job summary

South West London Integrated Care Board seeks a Senior Management Accountant to join the Financial Management team and report to the Head of Financial Management for All Age Continuing Care and Mental Health. The role centers on monthly budget reports, forecasts, risk flagging and supporting budget setting.

You will train non-financial managers in financial processes and policies, handle sensitive information, and negotiate with senior stakeholders to secure value for money across commissioning

Qualifications

• Postgraduate diploma or equivalent, with further specialist knowledge or master’s level equivalent.
• Experience handling highly complex, sensitive or contentious information.
• Negotiation with senior stakeholders on difficult issues.
• Present complex information to large groups.
• Problem-solving and adaptability to sudden demands.
• Experience managing a budget and contributing to budget setting.
• Experience leading a team and reviewing performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide monthly budget reports and financial forecasts to commissioning managers, in line with the financial reporting timetable.
• Deliver a professional, timely financial reporting service that meets budget holder needs.
• Identify financial risks and communicate them to budget holders and the Head of Financial Management.
• Prepare budget information for specified commissioning managers.
• Assist in setting the ICB's budgets.
• Ensure budget holders comply with Prime Financial Policies.
• Respond to audit reports and support implementation of recommendations.
• Provide financial training and support to non-financial managers.
• Help the ICB achieve its financial targets and value for money in commissioning activities.
