About the team and/or client

This role sits within the central finance team of GroupM UK Market reporting into the Financial Controller and will be primarily responsible for the reporting of EMX agency. The role will work closely with the rest of the GroupM team as well as Agency Commercial teams.

The Role Objective

The main purpose of the role is the timely and accurate preparation of the monthly management accounts for reporting to both GroupM management and WPP group (EMEA). This requires detailed variance analysis and exception reporting. The role will also support on key financial objectives that promote driving efficiencies within the team but also within the business. To be successful in this role, engagement with various parts of the business is required, often at different levels of seniority.

Responsibilities

  • Month-end reportingLead the preparation of the Management Accounts, FX analysis and reporting requirements. Meeting deadlines and providing commentary on variances against forecast and prior year. To investigate/follow-upon variances during and post month-end to ensure completeness and accuracy of what is being reported, a good understanding of the business outlook for the year and assist in identifying any risks and opportunities in the balance sheet.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations ensuring accounts are reconciledwith full commentary including review of supporting documentation,timelines, and follow up actions to resolve any queries.
  • Key financial SOXcontrolsMonthly Sox files preparation inline with deadlines.
  • AuditOrganise documentation and folders to ensure readiness for any audit requests, providing all relevant information/supporting documentation to auditors for SOX, interim and year end audits.
  • Intercompany work with the Management Accountant to communicateand agree with counterparties all intercompany transactions. Ensure correct reporting and accounting treatments are applied to all balances, all accruals/deferrals are cleared (through invoicing) by the intercompany deadline.
  • Business Partnering Understanding, collating,and presenting financial information to various stakeholders across Commercial, Controllership, FP&A and Client Teams

Group / WPP reporting

  • Prepare managementnumbers and supporting schedules for reporting inBFC – ensuring all supporting schedules tie back to P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Submit commentaries to EMEA on a timely basis.
  • Liaise with EMEAto resolve queries.
  • Prepare and submit monthly /quarterly and year-end packages.

  • Ensuring compliance in line with company policies and SOX requirements
  • Continuously reviewing current processes and making improvements in the control environment and improved efficiencies.
  • Understanding core aspects of business operations and customers.
  • Preparethe PSA & Transfer Pricing submission

  • Strong communication & relationship building skills.
