Senior Consultant - Qualified Finance - 07554 335 466 - alex.douthwaite@trinityhousegroup.com
If you’re ready to step into a role where you can genuinely lead, influence and raise standards across a growing finance function, I’d love to speak to you. I’m exclusively partnered with a high growth, acquisitive brand looking to add a Senior Management Accountant to their Derby based team.
This is a rare opportunity for a qualified (or finalist) Management Accountant to step into a role offering autonomy, and unparalleled development opportunities. You’ll join a high calibre finance function, manage a team and play a central part in delivering accurate, insightful reporting every month.
This would suit someone who enjoys coaching others, thrives in a dynamic environment and wants exposure to senior stakeholders in a highly acquisitive, growing business.
- Line‑manage a small team with day‑to‑day support, guidance and performance management.
- Work closely with senior leaders, including C‑suite.
- Present performance insights and prepare information proactively ahead of key conversations.
- Prepare & review forecasts. Support the annual budget cycle with structured analysis and challenge.
- Build relationships with operational stakeholders, providing clear, actionable financial insight.
- Review packs, journals and forecasts to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Act as the go‑to escalation point for technical queries and process challenges.
- Support the growth and development of junior colleagues, promoting high standards across the team.
- Take full ownership of a portfolio of management accounts — P&L, commentary, variance analysis and supporting files.
- Ensure a smooth, well‑controlled month‑end alongside the wider team.
- Maintain high‑quality, audit‑ready working papers.
- Identify inefficiencies and help refine processes within the management accounts function.
- Own specific technical areas such as reconciliations, recharges or payroll journals.
About You:
- A qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong P&L and balance sheet understanding.
- Demonstrable experience driving improvements across a finance function.
- Confident communicator who’s comfortable with both finance and non‑finance teams.
- Strong Excel skills; Power Query or VBA is a bonus.
- Experience reviewing work and supporting the development of others.
