Job summary

Four Recruitment is currently recruiting a Senior Management Accountant to join its finance team in Preston. You will own key management accounting activities, strengthen financial controls, and contribute to ongoing improvements across the function.

Working closely with senior finance colleagues, you will enhance reporting, support month-end processes and develop junior team members while maintaining accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or strong QBE experience.
• Experience across management accounts, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience managing, coaching or developing team members.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong overall IT proficiency.
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to build relationships and influence colleagues across the business.
• Proactive approach to problem solving, process improvement and delivering high quality work.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Leading the production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts, ensuring results are complete, clearly explained and aligned with accounting policies.
• Overseeing the general ledger and balance sheet, maintaining robust reconciliations and strong financial controls.
• Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Managing, coaching and developing junior members of the team.
• Working closely with Corporate Reporting and other finance teams to ensure accurate, consistent reporting and best practice.
• Driving continuous improvement across management accounting processes, reporting and systems.
• Supporting financial risk management and ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and control standards.
• Contributing to ad-hoc reporting, projects and the ongoing development of the management accounts function.

Salary: up to circa £55,000 DOE

We’re working with a well established, professional services organisation to recruit a Senior Management Accountant to join its internal finance team in Preston.
