Senior Management Accountant

The purpose of this role is to maintain effective control over the Company's financial reporting systems and procedures to enable the production of accurate, timely and relevant management information, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements and internal policies, as part of the Central Management Accounts team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Participate in the Balance Sheet Review process, performing reviews, and acting on queries and improvements
  • Deliver a high level of customer service to the business
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external Audit partners
  • Provide accurate financial and management information to the business
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement Projects - looking for opportunities and implementing solutions
  • Review and control of standard output and KPI's
  • Support the Finance Manager with the organisation of workload, tasks and timetables for the team
  • Mapping and design of efficient end to end processes
  • Adherence to STARK UK policies, procedures and Internal Control Framework
  • Monitoring, analysis and interpretation of actual performance against budgets and targets
  • Day to day financial support and ad hoc business projects, analysis and advice as required
  • Support Business Finance Controllers in the preparation of management information and forecasts
What you'll need to have:
  • Appropriate accounting qualification - ACCA, CIMA, ACA
  • IT / PC literate essential, particularly Microsoft Excel & Office.
  • Good Business acumen and commercial awareness
  • Ability to communicate comfortably with all levels of staff & management in the company and build relationships with non-financial people
  • Accuracy, numeracy and attention to detail
  • Drive for constant improvement and better ways of working
  • Flexible, analytical and methodical approach in problem solving, able to manage ever-changing workloads and priorities - ability for multi-tasking
  • Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative towards business improvement
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to assimilate information
  • Knowledge of a distribution, multi-location business preferred but not essential
  • High personal standards towards delivery of information to the highest standards of quality
