Job summary

British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) is seeking a Philanthropy Manager, Major Donors to grow its major giving programme and secure significant gifts for birds, nature and people. You will manage a portfolio of supporters, cultivate relationships and work with senior leadership to expand philanthropy across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience securing five and six figure gifts from major donors or philanthropic sources.
• Natural relationship builder with the ability to engage a wide range of people.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to develop compelling donor proposals.

Responsibilities

• Lead on developing relationships with existing and prospective major donors and inspire significant gifts.
• Manage a portfolio of supporters and prospects with personalised cultivation and stewardship plans.
• Identify and research new prospects, develop cases for support, and create bespoke donor engagement opportunities.
