Job summary

Canal & River Trust is seeking an experienced Philanthropy Manager to grow support from Major Donors and Family Foundations, securing vital income to protect and enhance the UK's waterways. You will manage a portfolio of philanthropic relationships, develop compelling funding proposals, and deliver outstanding donor stewardship to achieve ambitious fundraising targets.

Working within the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team, you will build relationships, develop proposals, and support events,

Qualifications

• Proven philanthropy fundraising experience with Major Donors and Family Foundations.
• Track record of meeting or exceeding income targets.
• Experience of identifying and cultivating new prospects.
• Experience developing high-quality proposals and stewardship reports.
• Experience using a CRM system for fundraising.
• Experience in Heritage or Environment sector is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate and develop a portfolio of Major Donor and Family Foundation prospects.
• Meet or exceed fundraising targets each year.
• Develop high-quality funding proposals, applications and reports for prospects and donors.
• Support the Major Donor fundraising programme and related processes.
• Deliver stewardship and cultivation events.
• Demonstrate Canal & River Trust values in all activities.
