Job Description

We have a temporary contract available for a Senior Maintenance Surveyor working with a UK-wide Housing Group. The position is based in Durham and is a hybrid role, with a mix of office, home, and on-site work across the North East.

You will provide predictable, reliable, and consistent outcomes to all customers, colleagues, and stakeholders in the delivery of your work. You will also manage a team of Maintenance Surveyors and support the management of contractors within your area of operation. Your responsibilities include ensuring contractor performance to agreed standards and resolving issues or disputes arising from contractual works.

You will provide technical expertise and drive quality through surveying, enabling the organization to meet standards for repairs and deliver on customer promises.

Requirements include:

1. A degree or equivalent experience in building surveying (RICS or CIOB) plus relevant Health and Safety qualification and knowledge of building safety and compliance.
2. Experience managing surveying teams in housing or construction.
3. Strong knowledge of housing legislation, compliance, and CDM.
4. A coaching mindset and passion for developing others.
5. The ability to juggle tasks, meet deadlines, and stay calm under pressure, delivering work commercially, on time, and within budget.
6. A keen eye for detail and a drive to make improvements.
