Maintenance Surveyor
£200 per day
Full Time - Temporary Fixed Term Role
Durham based - Hybrid mix of office, home and on-site work across the North East.

Exciting opportunity to work with one of our Durham based Social Housing clients. They're looking for an accomplished Senior Maintenance Surveyor ready to take the reins and lead their surveying team to the next level.

This role involves more than managing inspections; it's your opportunity to take full ownership of the surveying function, drive performance, influence culture, and leave a legacy of excellence in a fast-evolving housing organisation.

You'll be working with the Repairs and Maintenance team, acting as the trusted expert and key decision-maker for surveying activities across the region, ensuring high-quality outcomes for homes and customers.

Typical day as Senior Maintenance Surveyor:

• Lead and develop a capable surveying team to meet current and future demand
• Ensure quality through live, pre- and post-inspections and technical audits
• Take the lead on complex and sensitive cases, acting as the expert voice
• Use performance data to drive decisions and deliver outcomes

You have:

• A degree or equivalent experience in building surveying (RICS or CIOB) plus relevant Health and Safety qualification and knowledge of building safety and compliance
• Experience managing surveying teams in housing or construction
• Strong knowledge of housing legislation, compliance, and CDM
• A coaching mindset and passion for developing others
• The ability to juggle tasks, meet deadlines, and stay calm under pressure, delivering work commercially, on time, and within budget
• A keen eye for detail and a drive to improve
• Proficiency with technology for updating records, managing budgets and KPIs, completing online learning, and collaborating
• Hold a full UK driving licence and vehicle insured for business use (mileage covered)
• A Standard DBS check (paid for by us)
