Job summary

Breedon Group is seeking a Site Engineering Leader at Dowlow Quarry & Asphalt Plant in Buxton. You will own the site’s engineering strategy, lead a team of technicians, and drive world-class maintenance regimes while championing a zero-harm safety culture across heavy equipment and processing infrastructure.

Role requires strong leadership in heavy industrial settings, regulatory knowledge, and a track record of asset reliability improvement.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in heavy industrial or mining environments.
• Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background with hydraulic systems knowledge.
• In-depth understanding of safety and compliance in heavy plant operations.
• Relevant safety credentials with hands-on experience in site maintenance.
• Ability to mentor multi-skilled teams and manage contractors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a proactive maintenance strategy across fixed and mobile plant.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental standards in line with regulations.
• Lead, mentor and develop engineers and external contractors.
• Optimize spare parts inventory and control contractor spend while ensuring quality.
