Job summary

1st Step Solutions Ltd is recruiting a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join the client’s commercial team on a £100m+ laboratory and research facilities project based in Bracknell. This permanent role offers a senior position in a live environment, with a clear path to lead commercial activity across multiple refurbishment works.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors.
• Strong M&E subcontracting background essential.
• Knowledge of JCT Design and Build Conditions of Contract.
• Proven track record in cost control, reporting, and change management.
• Ability to work in live environments and coordinate with clients and supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of MEP works, including procurement, cost reporting, and contract administration.
• Measure and value works on site and from drawings for valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Submit Cost Value Reconciliations and prepare cost to complete.
• Manage cash and maximise cash generation.
• Prepare cash flow and turnover forecasts; prepare CVRs and subcontract liability reports.
• Prepare, negotiate, and agree subcontractor and supplier accounts.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms (JCT Design and Build) and governance.
• Build strong relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders.
