Job summary

V7 Recruitment is assisting a forward-thinking M&E contractor in Manchester to recruit a Quantity Surveyor and Senior Quantity Surveyor. The role covers delivering commercial management on high-rise residential and commercial schemes, from inception to final account.

You will prepare valuations, cost reports, budgets, and cash-flow forecasts, manage procurement, subcontractor accounts, and lead value engineering while coordinating with site teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Experience working on high-rise residential and/or commercial developments.
• Strong M&E quantity surveying background.
• Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to final account.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
• Able to work independently while building effective relationships with site and operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver commercial management of M&E projects from inception to completion.
• Produce monthly valuations, cost reports and contract forecasts.
• Develop and manage project revenue and cash-flow forecasts.
• Prepare budgets, cost estimates and financial reports.
• Managing procurement of materials and subcontractors, including tender documentation and bid analysis.
• Agree main contract sums and managing subcontractor accounts and payments.
• Reviewing and managing variations, change orders and claims.
• Monitoring project progress, assessing cost performance and identifying potential cost overruns.
• Carrying out value-engineering exercises to optimise project budgets.
• Working closely with site teams, clients, Project Managers, contractors and subcontractors.
• Attending project progress meetings and providing weekly and monthly reports to the directors.
• Preparing and agreeing final accounts.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team where required.
