Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced M&E Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer for a major clean water infrastructure project. The role starts in Southampton for 6-9 months before moving to the Isle of Wight, with travel costs paid.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering/technical background.
• Experience on major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience coordinating engineering, design, procurement and site delivery.
• Experience working with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Proven experience with supply chain expedition.
• Working knowledge of NEC and other relevant forms of contract.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• Good understanding of CDM and Health & Safety requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, commercial, design and construction teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an effective M&E delivery strategy.
• Coordinate engineering, design and procurement activities to support construction and commissioning.
• Monitor project costs against tender and approved variation allowances.
• Provide cost and progress information for project forecasts and reporting.
• Support the preparation and management of the project programme.
• Monitor progress against programme and produce regular progress reports.
• Liaise with design teams to ensure timely technical solutions.
• Ensure designs consider safe construction, commissioning and maintenance.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage supply chain expedition and monitor subcontractor performance.
• Work with site management to resolve design, procurement and delivery issues.
• Assist with contract reviews and monthly forecasting.
• Support preparation of payment applications and project information.
• Maintain project filing systems and handover documentation.
• Assist with O&M manuals and project take-over activities.
• Contribute to project risk and opportunity schedules.
• Evaluate innovative engineering solutions and processes.
