Job summary

Black Cat Recruitment Ltd seeks an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Contracts Manager to deliver MEP contracts across the Midlands. You will manage projects from mobilisation to handover, coordinating engineers, subcontractors and suppliers while maintaining safety and quality.

Responsibilities include client liaison, progress reporting, programme management and cost control. A strong commercial mindset and leadership are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Mechanical or Electrical Contracts Manager within Building Services, M&E or Facilities Management (Large projects).
• Experience delivering projects between 1–8M (M&E values).
• Experience understanding layout and schematic drawings.
• Experience procuring materials and subcontractors.
• Experience understanding and delivery of construction programmes.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple Mechanical/Electrical contracts simultaneously.
• Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Plan, programme and monitor project progress.
• Coordinate labour, subcontractors, suppliers and materials.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Attend site meetings and progress meetings.
• Produce project reports, programmes and cost forecasts.
• Ensure all works comply with current Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
• Support procurement of materials and specialist subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Manage variations and assist with commercial reporting.
• Oversee commissioning, snagging and final project handover.
• Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, sustainability and environmental performance.
• Promote energy-efficient engineering solutions and best practice throughout project delivery.

Education

HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services

SMSTS/SSSTS

IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
