Job summary

unybrands is a London-based platform seeking a Corporate Counsel (M&A) to lead acquisition contracts and assist on corporate finance matters. You will negotiate and draft M&A documents for ecommerce brands incorporated into the portfolio, while supporting cross-functional teams across the organisation.

The role requires drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, advising on employment, IP, and data privacy, and coordinating with outside counsel.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 3+ years of experience as legal counsel, handling M&A processes and drafting/negotiating M&A documents.
• Experience drafting a wide range of commercial contracts and managing contract templates.
• Strong interpersonal and client-relations skills; ability to work in fast‑paced environments.
• Employment law experience is a plus; startup/VC experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the negotiating and drafting of acquisition contracts for ecommerce brands acquired into the unybrands portfolio.
• Assist the General Counsel on corporate finance matters (equity and debt).
• Draft, review and negotiate complex corporate and commercial agreements (warehousing, marketing, IT, licensing, services, supply, confidentiality).
• Provide in-house advice on legal/compliance issues, align risk management with business aims.
• Collaborate with outside counsel on IP and data privacy matters; implement action plans.
• Develop and maintain contract templates; train business partners on policy; manage external counsel.
• Support budgeting, recruiting, and process improvements within the legal team.
