Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end loan lifecycle from implementation to control.
• Oversee drawdown by reviewing QS reports and payment certificates.
• Coordinate with solicitors and surveyors to satisfy security and monitoring needs.
• Post transactions in Phoebus and reconcile loan accounts.
• Carry out CDD/AML checks and monitor arrears and escalations.
• Open and update loan accounts in Phoebus and support land advances.
• Assist with redemptions, collect outstanding interest and charges, prepare security releases.
• Produce monthly MI and verify complex financial statements.

Based in London

Due to exciting business growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a boutique property lending group based in London, focussed on funding high-quality residential and mixed-use developments. They are seeking a Senior Loan Administrator to join a team within the Loans Administration department, reporting directly to the Operations Director. This is a pivotal position supporting the front-office team in the implementation, documentation, and control of bespoke property development loans. You will manage the entire loan lifecycle, ensuring precision and compliance at every stage.

Please note, development finance experience HIGHLY desirable

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Loan Administrator to include:

• Loan Lifecycle Management: Manage the implementation and control of approved loan facilities from start to finish.
• Drawdown Oversight: Review Quantity Surveyor (QS) reports, verify stage payment certificates, and prepare payments for approval.
• Third-Party Coordination: Instruct and manage relationships with solicitors and surveyors to ensure security, valuations, and monitoring requirements are met.
• System Administration: Post transactions via the Phoebus system and perform reconciliations between bank and loan accounts.
• Compliance & Risk: Conduct CDD and AML checks on directors and beneficial owners; monitor arrears and escalated issues to Lending Directors.
• Loan Accounts: Open and update loan accounts on the Phoebus system, supporting land advance preparation and maintaining accurate records throughout.
• Redemptions & Releases: Support redemption processes, assist with the collection of outstanding interest and capital charges, and prepare security release documentation.
• Reporting: Produce monthly management information (MI) and verify complex financial statements.

Requirements for the successful Senior Loan Administrator:

• Candidates will preferably have development finance experience
• Previous experience in a UK Banking operations role with a specific focus on property development finance is essential.
• Technical Skills: Deep understanding of the processes and background required for taking security in relation to secured lending.
• Relationship Management: Proven ability to collaborate with external professionals, including Solicitors and Surveyors.
• Systems: Proficiency in loan management software (knowledge of Phoebus is highly advantageous).
