Job summary

Fintelligent Search in the UK is seeking an experienced Development Finance Underwriter to join our real estate lending platform. You will assess borrower and property risk, draft detailed credit papers and present transactions for credit approval through due diligence and completion.

You will manage development drawdowns, amendments and ongoing loan management, coordinating with lawyers, valuers and advisers to mitigate risk and support portfolio growth.

Qualifications

• Experience underwriting property development, bridging or commercial real estate lending transactions.
• Experience completing property and borrower credit risk assessments and preparing detailed credit papers.
• Experience managing real estate loans following completion, including development drawdowns and facility amendments.

Responsibilities

• Complete detailed due diligence and credit papers covering borrower, property, development and exit risk.
• Appoint and manage lawyers, valuers and quantity surveyors, identifying transaction risks and recommending appropriate mitigants.
• Present transactions for credit approval and manage deals through the due diligence and completion process.
• Manage an existing loan portfolio, including development drawdowns, facility amendments, extensions and emerging credit issues.

If you’re an experienced Development Finance Underwriter looking for greater exposure across the full real estate lending lifecycle, this opportunity puts you at the centre of new transactions and portfolio management. You’ll assess property and borrower risk, shape credit recommendations and remain responsible for loans beyond completion.

As a Development Finance Underwriter, you’ll join a specialist property finance business growing its UK lending platform. You’ll have meaningful responsibility across underwriting, execution and ongoing loan management, working closely with borrowers and professional advisers.

Package & Benefits

• Salary of £90,000 to £95,000 per annum.

About the Company

You’ll join a specialist real estate lender providing bridging, refurbishment and development finance across residential, mixed-use and commercial property. The UK platform provides property finance facilities of up to £35m.

Key Responsibilities
