Avon Search is recruiting on behalf of a well-established, 120-bed care home in Gravesend, offering residential, nursing and specialist dementia care. The Home provides a modern environment with refurbished facilities designed to enhance residents’ comfort and wellbeing.

The role is a full-time Care Home Chef, responsible for nutritious, safe meals tailored to dietary needs, allergies, and preferences, contributing to residents’ health and happiness.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Chef.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene regulations and safe food preparation.
• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or above is desirable.
• Experience preparing meals within a care or healthcare setting would be advantageous.
• Well organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Passionate about producing high-quality, nutritious meals.
• Friendly, approachable and committed to supporting residents' wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious and appetising meals for residents.
• Cater for individual dietary requirements, allergies and texture-modified diets where required.
• Prepare varied and balanced menus that reflect residents' preferences and nutritional needs.
• Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
• Monitor stock levels, rotate food supplies and assist with ordering provisions.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety regulations and HACCP procedures.
• Work closely with the care team to understand residents' dietary needs and preferences.
• Help create an enjoyable and positive dining experience for residents.
