Job summary

ITV Granada Reports is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee all operational, logistical and technical facets of the ITV News Granada service. You will lead a production team of specialists and camera operators, ensuring timely, high-quality live broadcasts and multi-platform delivery.

The role combines management duties with hands-on field and gallery work, requiring strong budget awareness, health and safety knowledge, and a passion for the news agenda.

• Ability to plan and operate in the longer term and work to immediate deadlines.
• Organised and methodical but flexible approach with effective logistical skills.
• Ability to lead, develop, motivate and inspire a team and set high standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills under pressure.
• Willingness to work across ITV News projects and support production teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational, logistical and technical aspects for ITV Granada Reports.
• Manage budgeting where applicable and oversee production staff and camera operators.
• Provide hands-on support in gallery or field to ensure live broadcasts run smoothly.
• Coordinate health and safety requirements and site regulations for newsroom operations.
• Offer regular feedback to colleagues and drive continuous improvement.
