Job summary

ITV News Central in Birmingham is seeking an outstanding Content Editor to join its management team. You will drive editorial decisions, oversee programme production, digital curation and planning across TV and online platforms, including ITVX.

A strong track record in creative journalism, editorial judgement and line management is essential. You will manage a newsroom with a focus on diversity, inclusion and high editorial standards, with weekend duty editor responsibilities and potential

Qualifications

Fully qualified NCTJ, BJTC or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of media law & compliance.
Proven track record producing/sourcing/planning content to deadline.
Experience coaching, managing and motivating others.
Experience delivering innovation across all media platforms.
Creative journalism with strong editorial judgement.
Commitment to DE&I.
Excellent communication skills.
Self-motivated and decisive decision-making.

Responsibilities

Programme producing: oversee high quality programmes, bulletins or Opt production.
News editing: lead day-to-day newsgathering and coverage coordination.
Online editing: curate ITVX, news app and website with digital coverage.
Planning: lead long-term and weekly content planning across platforms.
Provide editorial guidance and training to colleagues; ensure compliance and deadlines.
