Maven is a market-leading proprietary trading firm with offices in London, Chicago, and beyond. The Linux Engineering team maintains the Linux estate across 10 datacentres in Europe and the US, including bare-metal and Kubernetes clusters, both on prem.

The role focuses on deployment, monitoring, problem diagnosis and scalable storage for trading applications. We value practical, data-driven decision making, automation and sharing techniques across teams, with a relaxed yet high‑performance

Qualifications

Proven track record designing, building and supporting Linux environments distributed globally.
Drive for simplification, automation and self-service.
Comfortable discussing filesystems, networking, kernel internals.
Desire to share and demonstrate work, techniques and tools to a broad audience.
Exposure to containerisation/virtualisation techniques.

Responsibilities

Deploy, maintain and ensure stability of Linux server estate across Europe and the US.
Monitor infrastructure and translate issues to trading teams.
Design and test new hardware, kernels and operating systems.
Manage central storage arrays supporting data pipelines and databases.
Handle updates in the Linux open source community.
