Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Linux Administrator for a high-profile DV-cleared programme in Reading. The role focuses on supporting Linux infrastructure, VMware ESXi, automation with Ansible, and ensuring platform stability, performance and security. This is an onsite, 12-month contract inside IR35, requiring active DV clearance.

You will work with RHEL or Rocky Linux, perform scripting, monitoring, patching and hardening, and collaborate with networking and storage teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in Linux administration (RHEL/Rocky Linux or similar).
• VMware vSphere/ESXi administration.
• Ansible automation.
• Bash/Shell scripting.
• Infrastructure troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
• Security patching & hardening.
• Networking, storage and permissions management.
• Experience with container tools (Docker/Podman) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices.

My client a leading technology company is looking for a Linux Administrator to join a high-profile programme.

This role will focus on supporting and maintaining Linux infrastructure, managing VMware environments, automating administration tasks, and ensuring platform stability, performance and security.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL, Rocky Linux or similar)
• VMware vSphere / ESXi administration
• Ansible automation
• Bash / Shell scripting
• Infrastructure troubleshooting and performance monitoring
• Security hardening and patch management

• Experience with Docker or Podman beneficial
