Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Lighting Designer to deliver innovative and sustainable lighting solutions across a diverse portfolio. You will shape projects from concept through construction, collaborating with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes for the built environment.

You will bring experience with Lighting Reality, DIALux and AutoCAD, strong knowledge of external lighting standards, and a track record in managing CM systems and Local Authority or

Qualifications

• Experience delivering lighting design from concept to construction.
• Proficient with Lighting Reality and DIALux and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of external lighting standards and best practice.
• Experience with central management systems.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with Local Authority or Strategic Road Network clients.
• Knowledge of external lighting products and technologies.
• EngTech status or pursuing IEng accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with lighting teams, clients and stakeholders to deliver projects.
• Produce detailed design layouts and drawings in line with QA and client requirements.
• Prepare feasibility reports and technical notes, option studies and specifications.
• Engage with luminaire, column, controls and electrical manufacturers.
• Coordinate with contractors, respond to RFIs and TQs.
• Complete non-intrusive site visits to support lighting assessments.
• Support development of proposals and progress against milestones and budget.
• Liaise with Local Authority and Strategic Road Network clients.
• Mentor junior team members and Early Career Professionals.
• Represent WSP within the lighting industry.
