Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Lighting Designer to deliver innovative and sustainable lighting solutions across a diverse UK portfolio. You will shape projects from concept through to construction, collaborating with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.

You will lead design development, produce detailed layouts and reports, engage with luminaire and controls manufacturers, coordinate site activities, and support business development while guiding junior team members.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering lighting design projects from concept to construction.
• Strong knowledge of external lighting standards and legislation.
• Experience working with Local Authority and/or Strategic Road Network clients.
• Ability to coach and develop junior team members.
• Familiarity with central management systems and lighting tech.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with lighting specialists and design teams to deliver project outcomes.
• Produce detailed design layouts, drawings and support documentation.
• Prepare feasibility notes, option reports and specifications.
• Coordinate with luminaire, column and controls manufacturers.
• Engage with contractors, respond to RFIs and TQs, and support site visits.
• Support development of proposals and monitor progress against milestones.
