Job summary

Ainscough Crane Hire is seeking an experienced Lift Supervisor to join our Preston depot. You will supervise lifting operations to ensure they are carried out safely and in accordance with approved method statements and BS7121 standards, using risk assessments and lift plans as your guide.

You must hold a CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor Blue Card (and ideally a CPCS A61 Appointed Person Blue Card) and have prior crane supervision experience.

Qualifications

• Valid CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor Blue Card.
• Valid CPCS A61 Appointed Person Blue Card (desirable, but necessary for Grade 1 Supervisor).
• Previous experience as Crane/Lift Supervisor.
• Experience working in an Appointed Person environment.
• Strong understanding of BS7121 Parts 1 and 3.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise lifting operations in accordance with approved Method Statements and Lift Plans.
• Interpret Risk Assessments, Method Statements and associated drawings.
• Brief and provide clear instructions to the lifting team.
• Monitor lifting operations and intervene where necessary to maintain safe working practices.
• Stop an operation where you believe it is unsafe, escalating to the Appointed Person where required.
• Work in accordance with BS7121 Parts 1 and 3 and Ainscough's own safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with customers, site teams and colleagues.
• Identify opportunities to improve the way we work, without ever compromising safety.
