Job summary

Ainscough Crane Hire Limited is looking for an experienced Lift Supervisor to join the Stockton depot. You will supervise lifting operations, ensuring work follows approved Lift Plans and Method Statements while maintaining a safe site environment.

Hold a CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor Blue Card (A61 Appointed Person Blue Card desirable for Grade 1) with strong communication and a safety-first mindset, enabling you to coordinate with customers and site teams and uphold BS7121 standards.

Qualifications

• CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor Blue Card is required.
• CPCS A61 Appointed Person Blue Card is desirable for Grade 1 Supervisor level.
• Previous experience as Crane/Lift Supervisor is essential.
• Experience working in an Appointed Person environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of BS7121 Parts 1 and 3 is expected.
• Ability to read Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Lift Plans.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to give clear direction.
• Commitment to safety-first work practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise lifting operations in accordance with approved Method Statements and Lift Plans.
• Interpret Risk Assessments, Method Statements and associated drawings.
• Brief and provide clear instructions to the lifting team.
• Monitor lifting operations and intervene to maintain safe working practices.
• Stop an operation if unsafe, escalating to the Appointed Person where required.
• Work in line with BS7121 Parts 1 and 3 and Ainscough's safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with customers, site teams and colleagues.
• Identify opportunities to improve the way we work, without compromising safety.

What you'll be doing

As a Lift Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the safe and effective supervision of lifting operations, making sure work is carried out in line with the agreed plan, method statements and relevant industry standards.

You'll:

• Direct and supervise lifting operations in accordance with approved Method Statements and Lift Plans.
• Interpret Risk Assessments, Method Statements and associated drawings.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who knows lifting operations, understands the responsibility that comes with supervising them and isn't afraid to make the right call when it matters.

You'll need:

• A valid CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor Blue Card.
• A valid CPCS A61 Appointed Person Blue Card (desirable, but necessary for Grade 1 Supervisor level)
• Previous experience as a Crane/Lift Supervisor.
• Experience working in an Appointed Person environment.
• A strong understanding of lifting operations and BS7121 Parts 1 and 3.
• The ability to understand and work from Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Lift Plans.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to give clear direction.
• The confidence to challenge unsafe practices, regardless of who is involved.
• A professional, safety-first approach to your work.
