Job summary

Ainscough Crane Hire is seeking an experienced Lift Supervisor to join our Preston depot. You will ensure safe, well-executed lifting operations in line with approved plans and industry standards.

Ideal candidates hold a CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor Blue Card and have prior supervision experience. A CPCS A61 Appointed Person Blue Card is desirable for Grade 1, with strong risk assessment and communication skills to protect crew and clients.

Qualifications

• CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor Blue Card.
• CPCS A61 Appointed Person Blue Card (desirable, but necessary for Grade 1 Supervisor).
• Experience as Crane/Lift Supervisor.
• Experience working in an Appointed Person environment.
• Strong understanding of lifting operations and BS7121 Parts 1 and 3.
• Ability to interpret Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Lift Plans.
• Excellent communication and the confidence to give clear direction.
• Professional, safety-first approach to your work.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise lifting operations in accordance with approved Method Statements and Lift Plans.
• Interpret Risk Assessments, Method Statements and associated drawings.
• Brief and provide clear instructions to the lifting team.
• Monitor lifting operations and intervene to maintain safe practices.
• Stop an operation if unsafe, escalating to the Appointed Person as required.
• Work in line with BS7121 Parts 1 and 3 and the company safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with customers, site teams and colleagues.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes without compromising safety.
