Worcestershire Regulatory Services, on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council, seeks a Principal Licensing Officer. The role leads a licensing team, enforces licensing laws, conducts complex investigations and provides technical guidance to businesses and stakeholders.

You’ll report to the Licensing and Support Manager and shape service delivery within a busy regulatory service. This senior post requires strong enforcement, regulatory and people-management experience,

Qualificações

• Significant experience in licensing enforcement or regulatory work.
• Previous supervisory or management experience with leading teams.
• Experience overseeing complex licensing investigations.
• Up-to-date knowledge of licensing legislation and procedures.
• Ability to interpret legislation and apply it to enforcement matters.
• Understanding of local authority processes and stakeholder relationships.
• Experience preparing reports and supporting legal proceedings.
• Relevant professional qualifications and ongoing development.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and supervise a team of licensing officers to meet service objectives.
• Oversee licensing enforcement, investigations and compliance activities.
• Provide specialist technical guidance on licensing matters to businesses and the public.
• Prepare reports for committees and support legal proceedings as needed.
• Develop service plans, policies and procedures; drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with police, partner councils and external agencies.
