Our client

Our client is a leading global investment management firm. They are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to work within a small and busy team of senior in-house lawyers. The individual will support the investment, operational, and governance activities of the firm, supporting stakeholders across all levels of seniority.

Key responsibilities

• Reviewing and advising on investment management agreements and related fund documentation.
• Reviewing, negotiating, and advising on contracts related to investing and trading in public markets and securities (such as counterparty terms of business, trading master agreements, securities lending agreements, and custody agreements).
• Advising on transactions related to private investments.
• Reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of service provider contracts related to the firm’s operations, infrastructure, and technology framework.
• Providing ad-hoc regulatory advice as required.

Experience requirements:

• A solicitor with 6 to 10 years of post-qualification experience.
• In-house experience in financial services, ideally on the buy-side.
• Experience in alternatives and/or fund establishment and management is a plus.
• A strong academic background (at least a Bachelor's degree), with solicitor training completed in a top-tier law firm.
