Job summary

Finastra is recruiting a Legal Counsel for the Universal Banking European Commercial & Legal team in London. The role focuses on technology contracting, taking ownership of complex negotiations and drafting software, SaaS, hosting and services agreements.

You will work with senior stakeholders to manage legal risk and deliver commercially sound outcomes. You will lead negotiations, provide pragmatic legal advice, and contribute to the development of the function as Universal Banking evolves as a

Qualifications

Fully qualified lawyer in England & Wales with significant commercial legal experience.
Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial technology contracts (software, SaaS, hosting, services).
Proven track record of leading negotiations with large enterprise customers.
Working knowledge of DORA, GDPR, privacy and security in tech contracting.
Ability to work autonomously and escalate when needed.
Strong stakeholder-management and ability to communicate with executive-level stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead complex commercial negotiations with enterprise customers and suppliers.
Draft and negotiate software licence, SaaS, hosting and services agreements.
Identify and mitigate contractual risk while supporting commercially workable outcomes.
Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice to senior stakeholders.
Participate in deal approval committees and ensure required internal approvals.
Review relevant legal and regulatory developments and translate into contractual changes.
Provide leadership within the European Commercial & Legal team and support development of the function.
