Job summary

Finastra is seeking an experienced technology lawyer to join the Legal team in London. You will own a broad range of matters across software and technology, advising on supplier contracts, licensing, procurement, privacy, regulatory issues and sanctions.

Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, this is an individual-contributor role with potential for growth. You’ll draft and negotiate software licenses, SaaS/PaaS, OEM and distribution agreements, and provide pragmatic, commercially-focused

Qualifications

• UK or EU legal qualification (UK preferred).
• Significant post-qualification experience in a senior legal role.
• Strong commercial-contracting and negotiation experience.
• Experience advising in the software industry.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate software and technology agreements, including licences, SaaS/PaaS, OEM and distribution contracts.
• Advise on contracts with technology suppliers and third-party tech in Finastra’s solutions.
• Support commercial arrangements with partners and resellers.
• Advise on procurement contracts for various goods and services.
• Provide guidance on privacy, data protection and regulatory matters.
• Advise on IP, software licensing and open-source matters.
• Assess sanctions and export-control requirements affecting software and end users.
• Support corporate compliance and trademark matters as needed.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify legal risks and provide practical solutions.
• Take ownership of a varied workload and adapt priorities as needed.
