Job summary

HS2 Ltd in Birmingham is seeking an experienced solicitor or barrister to lead commercial and contracts advice. You will draft documents, provide high‑quality guidance on procurement and construction contracts, and help HS2 manage risk across projects.

You will act as GDPR data protection lead, run weekly legal clinics, develop templates for internal use, and train staff. The role aligns with HS2’s safety, leadership, integrity and respect values.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with contracting or construction experience.
• Experience in public sector procurement processes.
• Strong knowledge of contract and procurement law.
• Experience advising on GDPR and data protection compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality legal advice on commercial/contracts law.
• Draft documents and advise on GDPR/data protection matters.
• Lead contract management and corporate procurement legal clinics.
• Advise on resolution of contractual claims and disputes.
• Draft precedents and training materials for HS2 staff.
