Associate Director at LJW Solutions | US Legal Recruitment

Driven and Organised Senior Legal Cashier | Well-established London Law Firm | Up-to £60,000 (DOE) | City of London

We are looking for an experienced and confident Senior Legal Cashier to lead the accounts function at a high-performing and fast-paced law firm, overseeing over 300 completions a month. This is a pivotal role where you will work closely with the Managing Director and support the wider conveyancing and legal teams, while directly managing one team member.

This role is ideal for someone with strong legal accounting expertise, leadership capability, and a hands-on approach to financial compliance and daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform daily bank reconciliations
• Manage client and office account transactions, including cheques, BACS, CHAPS, and online payments
• Oversee billing, completions, write-offs, and disbursements
• Process and supervise Stamp Duty and Land Registry payments
• Approve and oversee referral payments and supplier BACS runs
• Maintain accuracy of client account postings and online banking activity
• Lead on month-end and year-end accounting processes
• Respond to and resolve internal and external financial queries
• Manage and support one junior cashier, providing guidance and performance oversight
• The firm operate on an integrated CMS platform, Hoowla, with inbuilt accounting features similar to Quill, streamlining case and finance operations.

What We Are Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Legal Cashier, ideally in a senior or supervisory capacity
• Deep knowledge of Solicitors’ Accounts Rules
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail, especially in high-volume environments
• Confident with online banking and legal accounting software
• Clear communicator with leadership skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
